About The Artist
Vinu Aravind
Myself Vinu Aravind, a fine artist born and raised in Thanjavur, Tamil Nฤduโwidely known as the Cradle of Arts. Growing up in a city steeped in artistic heritage shaped my creative sensibilities from an early age. As a child, I received recognition for my natural artistic abilities, and I firmly believe that anything can be created once it is clearly envisioned in the mind.
My artistic journey began as a self-taught, part-time practice while I pursued my academic education. I earned a Bachelorโs degree in Physiotherapy from Dr. MGR Medical University, India. Despite a successful career in healthcare, my passion for art remained constant, eventually leading me to make a life-changing decisionโto leave my profession and fully embrace art as my true calling.
Art, for me, is a powerful medium to express my deepest emotions, spirituality, and inner reflections. It grants me the freedom to explore my imagination and the courage to confront and overcome my fears. My early explorations were deeply influenced by traditional Thanjavur painting, a rich South Indian art form known for its vibrant colors and ornate depictions of deities. I trained under esteemed gurus of this tradition and created commissioned works, developing a strong foundation in intricate detailing, color harmony, and devotional themes.
In 2009, I relocated to Dubai, where art took a central role in my life. Immersed in a multicultural environment, I began painting with renewed enthusiasm, making art an essential part of my daily life. Alongside my creative practice, I conducted art and craft workshops and later worked as an Art Teacher for key stage 2ย at The Oxford School (British Curriculum), Dubai. I further strengthened my professional journey by earning a Professional Certificate in Fine Arts from Lotus Educational Institute in 2019, becoming a licensed freelance fine artist.
My artistic practice primarily focuses on florals ,portraits, spirituality, and still life, executed mainly in oil and acrylic mediums. I am highly detail-oriented, and my work reflects a blend of traditional influences and contemporary expression, aiming to evoke emotion, introspection, and a sense of connection.
Through my art, I seek to create visual narratives that resonate with the soul, bridging culture, spirituality, and human experience.
